Another Success!!
Over $2,000 will go into the Helpers Fund's Hardship and Medical Program from the Seventh Annual Helpers Fund Charity Golf Tournament held on June 12, 2004 at Green Mansions Golf Club.
A full field teed off at 9 a.m. after a delicious breakfast served by Jaime Wallace and Martha Walker and her staff.
The overall winner of the tournament was the foursome of Bill Tresten, of Chestertown, and Alex Long, Jim Fitzgerald and Carl Makovski all from New Jersey. Second place went to the foursome of John Palermo, John Christopher Palermo, Terri Palermo and Stan Ellsworth, all of Chestertown. Third place wound up in a three-way tie between the foursomes of John Palermo, Flo Palermo, Gary Smith and Ruth Smith; Floyd Wells, Terry Whipple, Fred Culver and Arnold Morehouse; and Royce Hill, Betty Hill, George Cole and Carl Lamm.
Individual honors for low gross score went to John Christopher Palermo and Jaime Potter who tied in the Men's Division, both recording scores of 35 on the back nine portion of the tournament; and Sue Halliday of Chestertown in the Women's Division with a 40 on the back nine portion of the tournament.
Participants enjoyed a number of novelty contests before and after the tournament play, and most people walked off with additional gifts as a result of the after lunch raffle, or as a result of the numerous contests that were held on the course during tournament play.
A full lunch was served, as well as refreshments on the course and at the turn in the clubhouse.
The Helpers Fund is a 501(c)3 charity which has been serving the geographical area of the Tri-Lakes region since 1997.
