Golfers Tee Up for Tourney Number Eleven

Under a sunny sky, with a little bit too much heat, the 11th Annual Helpers Fund Golf Tournament teed off at 9 a.m. on June 7, 2008, after a hearty breakfast served by Martha Walker and her staff.

If you bought a ticket and put your drive in the fairway on the first hole, you were eligible for the drawing at the end of the tournament. You could purchase as many tickets as you wanted. Pat Farrell of Brant Lake won the drawing and the prize, which was golf for two w/cart at the Sagamore Golf Club.

Overall Winners
The overall winners of the tournament were:
A Flight: First; Phil Tucker, Floyd Wells, Steve Smith and Craig Smith
Second: John Bodine, Carl Makowski, John Kudrick and Patrick Hogan

Second: Gary & Ruth Smith, and John & Flo Palermo

A steak luncheon followed play and other contest winners were announced at that time. Each registrant received a gift certificate which entitled them to gasoline, or a meal at a local restaurant.

The Eleventh
All proceeds from the tournament are placed in the Fund’s Medical and Hardship Program.

The Helpers Fund is a 501(c)3 charity which has been serving the geographical area of the Tri-Lakes region since 1997.
