A total of 209 runners participated in the Helpers Fund's 2004 5K-10K races. The race began at 9:30 am, with Town Supervisor Fred Monroe as the official starter. Entries came from many states, as far away as Utah and Tennessee. Several teams ages 18 and under also participated.  The racers ranged in age from 6 to 82 years old.
